Dental implant in a few simple steps
➤ 1. Free implant consultation
During your initial consultation, we will conduct X-ray scans and photographs to assist in the placement of your implants. You'll meet with our implant team who will explain the procedure, costs involved, and address any concerns you may have.
Typically, the treatment is performed using local anesthesia. However, if you feel anxious about the procedure, you have the option to undergo sedation. Should you choose sedation, we will conduct a comprehensive assessment to ensure your safety, including monitoring blood pressure and oxygen levels.
A detailed clinical report outlining all discussed information and your treatment options will be emailed to you within 48 hours.
➤ 2. Review appointment
During this stage, you'll sit down with the Implant Surgeon to review your treatment options based on the clinical report. You'll have a casual discussion with the implant team where you can ask any questions you have. Once you feel ready, we'll schedule your treatment.
Additionally, we'll discuss finance options with you at this time. You can utilize our cost calculator to determine your monthly payments.
Before your surgery, you'll receive a pre-surgery pack outlining how to prepare for your treatment, while we handle the necessary preparations on our side.
➤ 3. Implant surgery
On this day, you'll receive your new tooth! The use of local anesthetic ensures the procedure is mostly pain-free. Alternatively, if you opted for sedation, you'll be unconscious during the procedure. Before surgery begins, both you and the implant team will be draped to maintain a sterile environment, reducing the risk of infection and ensuring safety. We employ advanced CT and digital scanning technology to meticulously plan your surgery. Our digital guidance approach, akin to keyhole surgery, minimizes post-procedural pain and swelling. Typically lasting 20-30 minutes, the procedure includes fitting a temporary tooth, allowing you to leave the same day with a renewed smile.
➤ 5. After care
Your journey with your new smile begins after surgery. You'll undergo regular 3-month check-ups, which include x-rays, cleaning, and maintenance to ensure your smile remains vibrant.
If you were referred to us by another dental practice, we will transition your care back to your regular dentist, providing guidance on how to maintain your implants. Alternatively, you have the option to continue seeing our implant team and hygienist for ongoing maintenance appointments. We are familiar with your smile and can offer optimal care. We recommend joining Synplan for additional check-ups and maintenance.
➤ 4. Permanent teeth
Over the next 3 months, your implants will integrate with your jawbone, a process similar to healing a broken bone. Throughout this period, you'll have regular checkups with our dental implant team to ensure proper healing and to learn how to maintain your implants effectively. Once your implants have fully healed, we will begin crafting your new permanent tooth. This involves a series of appointments where we take scans and impressions of your smile to ensure a comfortable fit. During these sessions, you can discuss preferences regarding size, shape, and shade. Feel free to bring photos of smiles you admire or wish to restore. To ensure your satisfaction, we'll create a test tooth for you to evaluate comfort and appearance. Our team will ensure the final tooth blends seamlessly with your natural teeth. When you're ready and satisfied with the result, we will fit your permanent tooth in place.
